8 ounces regular or whole-wheat elbow macaroni
13 cup heavy cream
1 14 cups grated cheddar cheese (5 ounces)
1 dash Freshly grated nutmeg to taste
1 pinch Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

    1. In a large pot, bring generously salted water to a rapid boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until it reaches the perfect al dente texture, following the package instructions minus 1 minute. Drain the macaroni.
    2. Using the same pot over medium-high heat, pour in the heavy cream. Cook it until it thickens, bubbles, and reduces by half, approximately 2 minutes.
