Creamy Alfredo Sauce Recipe

Instructions
1. | In a wide, heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt the butter and cream over low heat, stirring or whisking frequently until completely melted. Gradually add the Parmagiano Reggiano cheese, whisking or stirring after each addition. Cook until the sauce is reduced and thickened, this process takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt to taste. Toss the sauce with hot cooked pasta, incorporating a splash of the starchy pasta water to help it bind together. Serve the pasta in warmed bowls, garnishing with your choice of toppings if desired. Offer additional grated cheese at the table for serving. |
