2 1⁄2 | cm fresh ginger, peeled and grated |
2 | tablespoons water |
Instructions
For Marinating Shrimp | |

1. | Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil, honey, sherry, soy sauce, five-spice powder, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. |
2. | Add the shrimp, ensuring they are coated evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or up to 8 hours. |
3. | Remove the shrimp from the marinade, keeping the marinade aside. |
For Stir-Frying | |
1. | Heat a wok over high heat until smoking, then add the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil. |
2. | After a few seconds, add the shrimp and stir-fry for about a minute until pink. |
3. | Pour in the reserved marinade and water. Cook briskly, stirring constantly for approximately two minutes. |
4. | Remove the shrimp from the wok and continue cooking the sauce until it reduces and thickens, for about a minute. |
5. | Serve the sauce over the shrimp. |
