A delightful and aromatic cake featuring juicy pears, fragrant cardamom, and creamy yogurt.

Ingredients

Butter to grease the pan
250 plain yogurt
4 large eggs
125 milliliters vegetable oil
360 grams sugar
210 grams all-purpose flour + a little more to dust the pan
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1-2 pears, thinly sliced
Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 180º C. Grease a 22 cm springform pan with butter and dust with flour.
2. In a large bowl, combine the plain yogurt, large eggs, vegetable oil, and sugar. Mix thoroughly. Add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and ground cardamom. Stir until the flour is fully incorporated into the batter.
3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and delicately arrange the thinly sliced pears on top. Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the cake. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 15 minutes before unmolding. Finish by dusting with powdered sugar.
