Classic Chewy Drop Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

2 ½	cups all-purpose flour
1	cup granulated sugar
1	teaspoon vanilla extract
1	large egg
2	tablespoons milk
¾	teaspoon salt
½	teaspoon baking soda
½	cup butter or margarine
½	cup Crisco shortening

Instructions

• 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Sift together all dry ingredients except sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the margarine, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Stir in the milk until fully combined.
  7. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough about 3 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
