Ingredients

For the soup

8 sliced onions
2 minced garlic cloves
cup olive oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
8 cups beef stock
¼ cup dry white wine
½ teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf

1 French bread
2 cups grated gruyere cheese

Instructions

For the soup

1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over low heat. Add sliced onions and minced garlic, sauté until tender and golden yellow.
