1 cup cooked beef
1 cup cooked diced potato
12 cup cooked diced carrot
1 cooked diced onion
12 cup water
1 12 cups leftover beef gravy, divided
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, divided
1 12 teaspoons onion powder
34 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons margarine
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup flour
14 teaspoon salt
18 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • For Preparing the Strata

    1. Combine the cooked beef, diced potato, carrot, onion, water, 1/4 cup leftover beef gravy, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder in a bowl, then set aside.
    2. Place the margarine in a deep-dish 10-inch pie plate and put it in a cold oven.
    3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
    4. In a blender, blend the milk, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper at high speed for 45 seconds.
    5. Remove the pie plate from the oven and pour the batter into the plate.
    6. Spoon the meat and vegetable mixture into the center of the pie plate.
    7. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, avoiding opening the oven door during this time.
  • For the Gravy Topping

    1. While the casserole is baking, heat the remaining 1 cup of leftover beef gravy with the remaining 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder until hot.
    2. Serve the casserole topped with the hot gravy.
