A delicious and creamy potato casserole with ham and a cheesy sauce, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

2 lbs potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
2 cups fully cooked diced ham
2 medium onions, chopped
1.33 cups cup butter
3 teaspoons teaspoons all-purpose flour
14 ounces ounces milk
2 cups cups shredded cheddar cheese
34 teaspoon teaspoon salt
1 dash dash black pepper
1 (14 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
12 cup cup plain breadcrumbs

Instructions

    1. Begin by bringing water to a boil in a large dutch oven. Add the thinly sliced potatoes and cook for about 15 minutes, or until they are tender.
    2. In a medium saucepan set over medium heat, melt the butter.
    3. Stir in the all-purpose flour until it forms a smooth paste. Add the chopped onions and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until they become translucent.
    4. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.
    5. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and a dash of black pepper. Stir until the cheese is completely melted. Then, mix in the cream of mushroom soup.
    6. Pour this creamy cheese sauce over the potato mixture, and gently stir everything together. Add the diced ham and fold it in gently.
    7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the plain breadcrumbs on top. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and golden brown.
