1 | teaspoon salt |
2 | tablespoons soy sauce |
3 | garlic cloves, minced |
1 | small bay leaf |
1⁄4 | teaspoon black pepper |
1⁄2 | cup water |
2 | tablespoons cooking oil |
Instructions

For marinating and cooking the pork
- Marinate the pork cubes in a mixture of vinegar, soy sauce, salt, minced garlic, bay leaf, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Simmer the marinated pork covered for one hour until the meat is tender. Drain the pork and reserve the flavorful sauce.
- Heat cooking oil in a skillet. Brown the pork cubes on all sides until golden. Transfer the browned pork to a serving dish.
- Discard excess oil from the skillet. Add the reserved sauce and cook for a minute or two, deglazing and scraping off any brown bits. Remove the bay leaf. Pour the sauce over the pork and serve hot.
