A delightful blend of rutabagas and carrots mashed to perfection with a touch of asiago cheese, butter, and cream.

cups roughly chopped rutabagas

cup light table cream

cup shredded asiago cheese

tablespoon butter
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Begin by chopping the rutabagas and carrots into small, even pieces. Place them in a steamer and steam for about 15 minutes, or until they are tender and can be easily mashed with a fork.
2. Transfer the cooked root vegetables to a mixing bowl. Add in the light table cream and butter. Using a potato masher, gently mash the vegetables together, being careful not to overdo it, leaving a slightly chunky texture.
3. Stir in the shredded asiago cheese, and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
