85 | g desiccated coconut |
120 | g caster sugar |
150 | g self-raising flour |
2 | tablespoons cocoa |
150 | g butter or margarine, melted |
1 | teaspoon vanilla essence |
For the Icing | |
1 ½ | cups soft icing sugar |
1 | tablespoon cocoa |
2 | tablespoons hot water |

For Preparing the Bars
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Grease a 16x26cm baking pan and line with baking paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine crushed wholewheat biscuits, desiccated coconut, and caster sugar. Sift in cocoa and self-raising flour, then stir to combine.
- Melt the butter, pour over the dry ingredients, add vanilla essence, and mix until well combined.
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan and press down evenly. Bake for 15 minutes or until cooked.
- For the icing, sift soft icing sugar and cocoa into a small bowl. Add hot water and mix well. Ice the bars while they are still warm.
- Cut into squares for serving.
