Instructions

- In a mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of shortening.
- Once the sugar and shortening are creamed together, add the egg.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of cocoa.
- Combine the creamed mixture with the sifted dry ingredients. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 2/3 cup of milk. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes.
- After 8 minutes, top each cookie with half a marshmallow and continue baking for an additional 3 minutes.
- Once the cookies are cool, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, mix together 3/4 cup of soft butter, 3 tablespoons of water, 2 cups of confectioners' sugar, and 1/2 cup of cocoa until smooth. Frost the cookies generously.
