1/4 | cup milk (at room temperature) |
1 | package (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips |
2 | teaspoons vanilla |
1 1/4 | teaspoons ground cinnamon |
1/8 | teaspoon cayenne pepper |
2 | cups 2 cups heavy cream |
1 | package (6 ounce) package Oreo cookie pie crusts |
Instructions
-
- Begin by placing the beaters and mixing bowl in the freezer to chill. This step is crucial for whipping the heavy cream to perfection.
- Next, melt the milk chocolate chips either in a double boiler or the microwave. To avoid burning the chocolate, microwave for two minutes at 50% power. Allow the chocolate to cool.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and room temperature milk until well combined.
- Gradually whisk in the melted chocolate until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Add the vanilla, ground cinnamon, and a hint of cayenne pepper for a subtle kick of heat.
- Retrieve the chilled bowl and beaters from the freezer. Beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture to create a light and airy filling.
- Transfer 3 cups of the chocolate mixture into a freezer-proof bowl, cover, and set aside.
- Pour the remaining chocolate mixture into the Oreo cookie pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Place both the bowl and the pie in the freezer for 2 hours to set.
- After 2 hours, top the pie with the reserved chocolate mixture from the bowl.
- Return the pie to the freezer and let it freeze overnight to fully set.
- Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for added decadence.
- Note: The preparation time does not include the initial 2 hours in the freezer for setting.
