2 London broil beef, fat removed and cut into small pieces
1 onion, chopped
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 lemon, juiced and strained
2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
1 Hunt's no-salt-added tomato sauce
1 Hunt's tomato paste
1 Hunt's Mexican-style stewed tomatoes
2 S&W low-sodium pinto beans
2 S&W low-sodium black beans
1 S&W low-sodium kidney beans
1 Ortega mild diced green chilies
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

    1. Begin by cutting the London Broil into 1-inch or smaller pieces, ensuring to remove all visible fat.
    2. Chop the onion and garlic, then sauté in a skillet with a drizzle of olive oil. Add the prepared meat and brown until cooked through.
    3. Transfer the garlic, onion, and browned meat into the slow cooker when ready.
    4. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Mexican-style stewed tomatoes, diced green chiles, and all the beans into the slow cooker.
    5. Prepare the Apples by chopping them into bite-size pieces and add them to the slow cooker.
    6. Squeeze the lemon and strain the juice to remove any seeds.
    7. In a measuring cup, combine all the dry seasonings with ½ cup of water and the strained lemon juice.
    8. Add an additional ½ cup of water and mix thoroughly with a large kitchen spoon until well combined.
    9. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 6 hours until the flavors meld together perfectly.
