Instructions
For preparing mulled spiced wine | |

1. | Place the cheesecloth, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice on an 8" square of cheesecloth; tie with string. Place the spice bag in a Dutch oven. |
2. | Add the red wine, apple cider, sugar, orange slices, lemon slices, and lime slices to the Dutch oven. Bring to a simmer over low heat (do not boil). Keep at a simmer while serving. Ladle into mugs. |
3. | Note: For a nonalcoholic version, omit the wine and substitute more apple cider. |
