A delicious and tender grilled steak recipe that will impress your guests with its simple yet flavorful preparation.

Ingredients

1 grilling steak, such as striploin or rib
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 tablespoon grape seed oil or butter

Instructions

1. Begin the preparation of this dish four days in advance by generously sprinkling sea salt on both sides of a quality grilling steak, such as striploin or rib. Allow the salted steak to rest on a rack over a plate in the refrigerator, uncovered, for four nights.
2. Twenty minutes before cooking, remove the steak from the fridge to bring it to room temperature. Preheat your grill to the highest setting or heat your cast iron pan until it is very hot.
3. Grease the grill or pan with grape seed oil or butter. Grill the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side until a well-crafted crust is achieved. Adjust the grilling time for desired doneness. For a rare result with an inch-thick steak, additional cooking inside a closed grill can be done for a slightly more done finish.
4. Serve the Salt-Encrusted Grilled Steak alongside roasted vegetables and season generously with salt and pepper. Consider adding a garlic pea puree as a flavorful side; this option is, however, entirely optional as the steak itself boasts ample flavor.
