¾ | cup apple butter |
⅓ | cup low-fat milk or ⅓ buttermilk |
1 | egg |
¼ | cup fat free egg substitute |
1 | teaspoon vanilla extract |
⅓ | cup flaked coconut (optional) |
½ | cup powdered sugar |
1 | tablespoon apple juice concentrate |
Instructions
For Preparing the Bars | |

1. | In a mixing bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. |
2. | Add the apple butter, milk, egg, egg substitute, and vanilla and beat just until smooth. |
3. | Stir in coconut if desired. |
4. | Spread the batter into a 9x9” baking pan that has been coated with cooking spray. |
5. | Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for about 20 minutes or until a fork or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. |
6. | Set aside to cool. |
7. | Prepare the glaze by blending powdered sugar with apple juice concentrate in a small bowl. |
8. | Spread the glaze over the cooled bars and cut into 10 equal portions. |
