Ingredients
1 | cup butter |
---|---|
1 | cup water |
2 | all-purpose flour |
2 | white sugar |
2 | eggs |
1⁄2 | cup sour cream |
1 | teaspoon almond extract |
1⁄2 | teaspoon salt |
1 | teaspoon baking soda |
1⁄2 | cup butter |
1⁄4 | cup milk |
4 1⁄2 | confectioners' sugar |
1⁄2 | teaspoon almond extract |
1 | cup chopped pecans |
Instructions
1. | Begin by preheating the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). |
---|---|
2. | In a large saucepan, bring 1 cup of butter and water to a rolling boil. Remove from heat, and delicately fold in the all-purpose flour, white sugar, eggs, sour cream, 1 teaspoon of almond extract, salt, and baking soda until a velvety smooth batter forms. Gently pour the batter into a generously greased 10x15-inch baking pan. |
3. | Bake the meticulously prepared batter in the preheated oven for 20 to 22 minutes, or until the cake transforms into a glorious golden hue and passes the done test. Allow the cake to gracefully cool for 20 minutes. |
4. | In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of butter with milk and bring to a gentle boil. Remove from the heat and incorporate the confectioners' sugar, along with 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract. Infuse the mixture with the aromatic essence of chopped pecans. Gracefully spread this luscious frosting over the still warm cake. |
