Impress your guests with this elegant and indulgent dessert. This chocolate lava cake recipe yields four individual molten cakes with irresistibly gooey, oozing centers. Each bite is a symphony of rich, velvety chocolate that will leave you craving for more.

Ingredients

2
egg yolks
2
eggs
2
tablespoons white sugar
3 12
ounces chopped dark chocolate
5
tablespoons butter
4
teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3
tablespoons flour
1
pinch salt
18
teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Generously butter the insides of four 5 1/2-ounce ramekins.
2. Whisk egg yolks, eggs, and sugar together in a bowl until light and foamy.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate and butter in 30-second intervals until fully melted, stirring after each interval, for 1 to 3 minutes.
4. Combine the melted chocolate mixture with the egg and sugar mixture until well combined. Sift in cocoa powder and stir to combine. Sift in flour and salt; stir to form a smooth batter. Mix in the vanilla extract.
5. Transfer the batter to a resealable plastic bag. Cut off a corner of the bag to create a tip. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins; gently tap on the counter to remove air bubbles. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
6. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
7. Place the chilled ramekins in a casserole dish. Pour hot tap water into the dish until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes.
9. Invert the cakes onto serving plates and dust with powdered sugar.
