Instructions

- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat together eggs, oil, orange juice, and vanilla until well mixed.
- Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, toss the thinly sliced apples with cinnamon and the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar.
- Grease a 10-inch tube pan and spread one-third of the batter evenly on the bottom.
- Layer half of the cinnamon-coated apple slices on top of the batter.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining batter and apples.
- Carefully spread the rest of the batter over the top layer of apples.
- Bake the cake in a preheated 350ºF oven for 55-65 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
- Dust the cake with powdered sugar for a decorative touch.
