   Beth's Signature Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients
| 4 | lbs pork ribs, membrane removed |

| 3 | cup light brown sugar | 
| 1 | teaspoon Hickory smoke salt, or substitute Hickory liquid smoke | 
| 1 | tablespoon paprika | 
| 1 | tablespoon garlic powder | 
| 1 | teaspoon ground red pepper (optional) | 
| 2 | cups your favorite barbecue sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray) | 
Instructions
| 1. | Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with two layers of foil, shiny side out. |

| 2. | Remove the tough membrane covering the bony side of the ribs. | 
| 3. | Season the ribs with salt, pepper, and if desired, a sprinkle of Hickory liquid smoke. | 
| 4. | In a medium bowl, mix together light brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and ground red pepper. Rub the mixture onto all sides of the ribs. | 
| 5. | Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, meaty side down, and tightly cover with foil. | 
| 6. | Bake in the oven for 2-2 1/2 hours, until the meat starts to pull away from the bones. | 
| 7. | Remove from the oven and set the broiler to high. | 
| 8. | Cut the ribs into serving-sized portions and place them on a broiler pan, bony side up. | 
| 9. | Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce and broil for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. | 
| 10. | Turn the ribs over and repeat the sauce and broiling process. Alternatively, grill the ribs for added smoky flavor. |
