12 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons white or dark rum

Instructions

    1. In a bowl, combine sugar and cornstarch.
    2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar mixture. Slowly pour in the milk and cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture starts to boil. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
    3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the rum. Serve the sauce warm.
