A delightful dish of Cajun-seasoned salmon cubes served over fluffy white rice, drizzled with a zesty bang bang sauce, and garnished with fresh chives.
Ingredients
1 | cup uncooked white rice |
---|---|
4 | salmon fillets |
1 | teaspoon each: garlic powder, salt, black pepper |
3 | teaspoons Cajun seasoning |
1 | tablespoon vegetable oil |
1 | tablespoon unsalted butter |
3 | tablespoons chopped chives, for serving |
1⁄2 | cup mayonnaise |
1⁄4 | cup sweet chili sauce |
2 | tablespoons sriracha sauce, less or more to taste |
1 | tablespoon honey |
1 | tablespoon lime juice |
Instructions
1. | Prepare the white rice in salted water following the instructions on the package. |
---|---|
2. | Begin by drying the salmon fillets with a gentle pat. Cut the fillets lengthwise in half, then into 1-inch/2.5 cm cubes. In a mixing bowl, combine the salmon cubes with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Ensure the salmon is evenly coated with the seasonings. Set aside. |
3. | Create the bang bang sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients in a bowl or jar. Whisk vigorously until well combined. |
4. | Finely chop the chives for garnishing. |
5. | In a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, heat vegetable oil and unsalted butter. Add the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer. Sear for 1 minute, then flip and sear for an additional minute. |
6. | To serve, plate the cooked rice, place the seared salmon cubes on top, drizzle with the prepared bang bang sauce, and sprinkle with chopped chives. Pair with a refreshing cucumber salad. Savor the flavors! |
