Ingredients

1 non-stick cooking spray
1 20 ounces can pineapple chunks, drained
1 egg
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 12 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Prepare a 9 x 9 casserole dish by coating it with non-stick cooking spray.
3. Drain the juice from the can of pineapple into a bowl.
4. In a saucepan, combine the pineapple juice, egg, flour, sugar, and red pepper flakes.
5. Cook and stir the mixture until it thickens.
6. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
7. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until slightly melted.
8. Add the chopped fresh basil and stir to incorporate.
9. Arrange the pineapple chunks in the prepared casserole dish.
10. Pour the cheese sauce over the pineapple.
11. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
