Cholesterol-Free Oil Pastry

A cholesterol-free pastry crust perfect for both sweet and savory dishes.

⅔ | cup salad oil |
3 | tablespoons milk (any kind) |
1 | egg yolk (optional) |

Instructions

- Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Using a fork, whip together the salad oil and skim milk until well combined.
- Pour the oil and milk mixture over the flour, stirring with a fork until all the flour is dampened.
- Set aside around 1/3 of the dough for the top crust.
- Press the remaining dough evenly onto the bottom and sides of a pie plate.
- Fill the pastry with your desired fruit filling.
- For the top crust, crumble the reserved dough and sprinkle it evenly over the filling.
- Follow the baking instructions as per your fruit pie recipe.
- Note: This recipe is intended for an 8" pie. If using a 9 1/2" pie pan, the entire dough can be used for a single pie crust, perfect for cold pudding fillings.
