A cholesterol-free pastry crust perfect for both sweet and savory dishes.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1 ¼ teaspoons salt
cup salad oil
3 tablespoons milk (any kind)
1 egg yolk (optional)

¼ cup milk (any kind)

Instructions

1. Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
2. Using a fork, whip together the salad oil and skim milk until well combined.
3. Pour the oil and milk mixture over the flour, stirring with a fork until all the flour is dampened.
4. Set aside around 1/3 of the dough for the top crust.
5. Press the remaining dough evenly onto the bottom and sides of a pie plate.
6. Fill the pastry with your desired fruit filling.
7. For the top crust, crumble the reserved dough and sprinkle it evenly over the filling.
8. Follow the baking instructions as per your fruit pie recipe.
9. Note: This recipe is intended for an 8" pie. If using a 9 1/2" pie pan, the entire dough can be used for a single pie crust, perfect for cold pudding fillings.
