Classic Apple Bavarian Torte

Instructions
1. | Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). |

2. | In a bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of butter, 1/3 cup of white sugar, a hint of vanilla extract, and all-purpose flour. Press the resulting crust mixture firmly onto the flat base of a 9-inch springform pan. Set it aside. |
3. | Prepare the filling by blending together an 8-ounce package of cream cheese and 1/4 cup of white sugar. Beat in an egg and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Pour this creamy mixture over the prepared crust. |
