1 | teaspoon vanilla |
¾ | cup 2% low-fat milk |
Instructions

- In a mixing bowl, delicately whisk together sugar, egg, and fragrant vanilla essence.
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat until steaming. Slowly incorporate a small amount into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to blend, then pour the mixture back into the saucepan. (This gradual process prevents the formation of scrambled eggs).
- Stir the mixture over low heat, ensuring to constantly whisk, for 5 to 8 minutes or until it slightly thickens. Avoid boiling the sauce.
- Transfer the luscious sauce into a clean bowl. To prevent a skin from forming, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the sauce. Refrigerate until chilled.
