A delightful and traditional English dessert that combines layers of jam roll, fruit cocktail, sherry-infused Jell-O, creamy custard, whipped cream, and colorful sugar sprinkles.

Ingredients

1 jam roll, sliced
1 package (3 ounce) package strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
½ cup sherry wine
1 can fruit cocktail, drained
bird's custard mix
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
colored sprinkles

Instructions

1. Begin by slicing the jam roll and arranging it in the bottom of a trifle bowl.
2. Prepare the strawberry Jell-O as per the package instructions, replacing 1/2 cup of cold water with 1/2 cup of sherry. Pour the prepared Jell-O over the jam roll.
3. Cover the jam roll and Jell-O layer with the drained fruit cocktail.
4. Place the trifle in the fridge to allow it to set.
5. Once the trifle has set, prepare the custard as per the instructions and pour it over the set Jell-O layer.
6. Finish by topping the trifle with whipped cream and a generous sprinkle of colored sugar sprinkles. Keep the trifle refrigerated until ready to serve.
