Classic Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

24 | ounces root beer |

1 | (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce |

Instructions

- Prepare the slow cooker by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray for easy cleanup.
- Begin by trimming the excess fat from the pork. Place the meat in the slow cooker.
- Layer the pork with 3 cloves of crushed garlic, 2 small chopped onions, celery ribs cut to fit in the cooker, and hickory seasoning to your liking.
- Pour the root beer over the ingredients in the slow cooker.
- Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 8 hours until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.
- Once cooked, remove the pork from the cooker. Use a fork to shred the meat, removing any excess fat.
- Mix chopped onions, garlic, dark brown sugar, and your favorite barbecue sauce. Add this mixture to the shredded pork.
- Refrigerate the pork overnight to allow the flavors to meld. Add more sauce if desired.
- Reheat the pork in the microwave and serve on soft sandwich buns.
