Instructions

- In a food processor, blend 1/2 cup of butter (or margarine), 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla for 2 minutes, ensuring to scrape down the bowl occasionally.
- While the processor is running, add chunks of very ripe bananas until blended smoothly. (Pro tip: It's recommended to mash the bananas beforehand for easier incorporation).
- Dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 3/4 cup of plain yogurt or sour cream. Let it stand for 1 to 2 minutes. The yogurt will expand, so use a 2-cup measuring cup for accuracy.
- Add the yogurt mixture to the batter and process for 3 seconds.
- Stir in 2 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder just until the flour disappears with 4 quick on/off turns.
- Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of chopped pecans if desired.
