Instructions

- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Generously coat the bottom of a 13 x 9 baking pan with 1 cup of luscious Caramel Sauce. Refrigerate until ready to assemble the pudding.
- Cut the large loaf of bread into 1-inch cubes, using a French bread or Challah for best results.
- Spread the bread cubes onto a sheet pan in a single layer. Toast in the oven for approximately 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F. Do not overlook this crucial step, highlighted by experience!
- In a medium bowl, combine the large eggs, half-and-half, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix in 1 1/2 cups of the divine caramel sauce.
- Transfer the toasted bread cubes into a very spacious bowl and pour the egg mixture over them. Gently toss until all the cubes are evenly coated.
- Allow the mixture to rest for 20 minutes, gently stirring occasionally to ensure all cubes are soaked through.
- Spread the soaked bread evenly over the caramel layer in the 13 x 9 pan.
- Bake on the lower oven rack for 45 minutes until the pudding is set and golden brown.
- Let the bread pudding cool for 30 minutes before serving. Drizzle with the remaining decadent caramel sauce for a luxurious finish.
