This decadent ice cream pizza is a luxurious treat suitable for any occasion. Topped with creamy vanilla ice cream, crunchy walnuts, and drizzled with indulgent hot fudge sauce, it is served on a bed of chocolate cookie crust.

Ingredients

½ devil's food cake mix
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 pinch flaked salt (Optional)
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened at room temperature for 20 minutes
½ cup chopped walnuts, or more to taste
cup hot fudge, or more to taste

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Prepare the crust: In a large bowl, combine devil's food cake mix, vegetable oil, and a large egg until well blended. Gently fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it with your fingers into a 1/4-inch thick circle, approximately 9 inches in diameter. Sprinkle with a pinch of flaked salt.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is set, about 14 to 16 minutes.
    4. Once baked, remove the crust from the oven and firmly tap the bottom of the baking sheet on the counter to eliminate any excess air. Let the crust cool on the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes before transferring it to a large plate or platter.
    5. In a bowl, beat the room temperature vanilla ice cream with an electric mixer until it reaches a soft serve consistency.
    6. Using an offset spatula or a knife, spread the softened ice cream evenly over the cooled crust. Place the pizza in the freezer until the ice cream is firm, approximately 30 minutes.
    7. Slice the ice cream "pizza" into 8 equal portions. Garnish each slice with chopped walnuts and drizzle generously with hot fudge sauce.
