Indulge in layers of rich chocolate cake, creamy peanut butter sauce, decadent chocolate pudding, and fluffy whipped topping, finished with crumbled Reese's Peanut Butter cups. A dessert fit for a sweetheart!

Ingredients

1 (18 ¼ ounce) chocolate cake mix
10 10 ounces peanut butter chips
4 ¼ cups 4 ¼ cups cold milk, divided
½ cup ½ cup whipping cream
¼ teaspoon ¼ teaspoon vanilla
2 2 (6 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip, thawed
4-6 4-6 Reese's Peanut Butter cups, crumbled

Instructions

    1. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the directions and let it cool completely.
    2. In a heavy saucepan, combine the peanut butter chips, 1/4 cup of milk, and the whipping cream.
    3. Cook and stir over low heat until the peanut butter chips are melted.
    4. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla, and cool to room temperature.
    5. Place the remaining milk in a mixing bowl, beat in the instant chocolate pudding mixes on low speed for 2 minutes.
    6. To assemble the trifle, crumble half of the chocolate cake into a 4-quart trifle bowl or a large bowl.
    7. Layer with half of the peanut butter sauce, chocolate pudding, Cool Whip, and then repeat the layers.
    8. Finish by adding the crumbled Reese's Peanut Butter cups on top.
    9. Allow the trifle to cool in the refrigerator for 3 hours before serving.
