Decadent Sweetheart Trifle
Indulge in layers of rich chocolate cake, creamy peanut butter sauce, decadent chocolate pudding, and fluffy whipped topping, finished with crumbled Reese's Peanut Butter cups. A dessert fit for a sweetheart!
Ingredients
1 | (18 ¼ ounce) chocolate cake mix |

10 | 10 ounces peanut butter chips |
4 ¼ | cups 4 ¼ cups cold milk, divided |
½ | cup ½ cup whipping cream |
¼ | teaspoon ¼ teaspoon vanilla |
2 | 2 (6 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix |
1 | (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip, thawed |
4-6 | 4-6 Reese's Peanut Butter cups, crumbled |
Instructions
1. | Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the directions and let it cool completely. |

2. | In a heavy saucepan, combine the peanut butter chips, 1/4 cup of milk, and the whipping cream. |
3. | Cook and stir over low heat until the peanut butter chips are melted. |
4. | Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla, and cool to room temperature. |
5. | Place the remaining milk in a mixing bowl, beat in the instant chocolate pudding mixes on low speed for 2 minutes. |
6. | To assemble the trifle, crumble half of the chocolate cake into a 4-quart trifle bowl or a large bowl. |
7. | Layer with half of the peanut butter sauce, chocolate pudding, Cool Whip, and then repeat the layers. |
8. | Finish by adding the crumbled Reese's Peanut Butter cups on top. |
9. | Allow the trifle to cool in the refrigerator for 3 hours before serving. |
