½ cup butter, room temperature
1 cup white sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 ½ eggnog, room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 ¼ all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons eggnog
1 teaspoon rum
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a fluted cake pan.
    2. In a medium bowl, cream the room temperature butter and white sugar until smooth. Add the room temperature eggs one at a time, followed by eggnog and pure vanilla extract. Continue beating until well combined.
    3. In a separate large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt. Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be cautious not to overmix. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
