Ingredients

2 eggs
1 tablespoon egg (additional liquid due to altitude)
¾ cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
4 peeled sliced apples
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup butter
cup whipping cream

Instructions

    1. Prepare a 9" spring form cake pan by greasing it with butter.
    2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
    3. In a large bowl, combine eggs and oil, stirring until a smooth mixture is achieved.
    4. Gradually add sugar and mix until smooth.
    5. Incorporate all remaining ingredients except apples into the mixture, ensuring thorough mixing. The batter will have a dense consistency.
    6. Gently fold in the peeled and sliced apples.
    7. Spread the batter evenly into the buttered pan and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
    8. Allow the cake to cool while preparing the glaze.
    9. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and cream. Cook and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the mixture cool slightly, then drizzle the sauce over the cake. Allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
