A refreshing and invigorating beverage that combines the zesty flavors of lemon, the coolness of mint, and a hint of ginger.
| 1 1⁄3 | cups Lemon Juice (from 6-8 lemons) |
|---|---|
| 1 | cup packed Mint Leaves |
| 2 | tablespoons Ginger |
| 2⁄3 | cup Granulated Sugar |
| 6 | cups Boiling Water |
| 4 | cups Cold Water |
| 1. | In a large bowl, delicately combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, vibrant mint leaves, and the aromatic ginger. |
|---|---|
| 2. | Carefully pour 4 cups of boiling water over the mixture, stirring vigorously. Allow it to steep for 30 minutes, enhancing the infusion of flavors. In the meantime... |
| 3. | In another bowl, pour the remaining two cups of water over the granulated sugar to create a luscious syrup. Stir thoroughly to ensure complete dissolution of the sugar. |
| 4. | Let the sugar syrup cool down to room temperature, which typically takes about 30 minutes. |
| 5. | Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the infused mint-lemon-ginger liquid to refine its texture. |
| 6. | Combine the sugar syrup with the strained liquid, adjusting the sweetness and tartness by adding 3-4 cups of water to your preference. |
| 7. | Chill the concoction in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour to enhance the flavors. |
| 8. | Just before serving, place ice cubes in a pitcher and pour the chilled lemonade over them. |
| 9. | Present the Turkish Mint Lemonade elegantly, preferably garnished with a sprig of fresh mint in each glass. |
