Ingredients: 9

Indulge in a delectable dish featuring crispy pan-seared pierogies paired with a tangy cabbage medley. Complete your meal with a side of refreshing tossed green salad, if desired.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
1 (16 ounce) package frozen potato and cheese filled pierogies
¼ pound bacon, diced
½ small head cabbage, chopped
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
½ teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

    1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the frozen pierogies and cook, gently turning occasionally, until they achieve a golden brown hue, approximately 8 minutes per side. Maintain warmth until ready to plate.
    2. Simultaneously, in a deep skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium-high heat until evenly browned, a process that typically takes 7 to 10 minutes. Transfer the crispy bacon to a plate lined with paper towel, while conserving the flavorful drippings in the skillet.
    3. Into the bacon drippings, introduce the chopped cabbage and thinly sliced onion. Stir well, cover, and allow to cook over medium heat for 10 minutes. Incorporate the chopped tomatoes, the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil, white wine vinegar, white sugar, and salt. Add the crispy bacon back into the mix and continue to cook, uncovered, for an additional 5 minutes.
    4. Mix the pan-seared pierogies with the savory cabbage medley and present your dish elegantly for serving.
