    1. Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and greasing a 9x13-inch baking dish.
    2. Arrange the pitted and quartered plums at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and white sugar until smooth and creamy. Gradually add eggs one at a time. Stir in sifted all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Incorporate milk and vanilla extract to form a silky batter. Gently pour the batter over the plums.
