Sicilian Stuffed Meatloaves

Delight your taste buds with these little Sicilian meatloaves stuffed with gooey mozzarella cheese and wrapped in flavorful prosciutto. A perfect blend of Italian flavors in a single dish.

1 | jar garlic and onion pasta sauce |
1 | cup seasoned dry bread crumbs |
1 | teaspoon salt |
1 | teaspoon pepper |
12 | ounces ground beef |
2 | ounces mozzarella cheese |
4 | slices prosciutto or ham (thin slices) |
1 | package package refrigerated fresh fettuccine or package spinach fettuccine |
finely shredded Parmesan cheese |
Instructions

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the egg, 1/4 cup of pasta sauce, fine dry bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.
- Add the ground beef to the mixture and mix well.
- Cut the mozzarella cheese into four logs measuring approximately 2 1/4x1/4x1/2 inches.
- Wrap a slice of prosciutto or ham around each cheese log.
- Shape one fourth of the ground beef mixture around each cheese log to form a loaf.
- Flatten the four meat loaves to 1 1/2 inches thick and place them in a shallow baking pan.
- Bake the loaves, uncovered, in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package directions, and heat the remaining pasta sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until bubbly.
- Arrange the meat loaves over the hot cooked pasta on a serving plate.
- Spoon the sauce over the top and, if desired, sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese.
