Spiced Middle Eastern Lamb Burger
A delicious and flavorful Middle Eastern-inspired lamb burger with a mix of aromatic spices, perfect for grilling or pan-frying.
Ingredients
1 | tablespoon olive oil |

1 | cut into 4 portions, each split in half |
1⁄2 | cup hummus |
70 | g Baby Spinach |
150 | g roasted red capsicums, sliced thickly (roasted peppers) |
1⁄2 | small red onion, sliced thinly |

3⁄4 | cup fresh breadcrumb |
2 | tablespoons milk |
500 | g lamb mince |
1 | medium brown onion, coarsely grated |
1⁄4 | cup chopped of fresh mint |
1 | garlic clove, crushed |
2 | teaspoons ground cumin |
Instructions
1. | In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Add lamb mince, grated onion, fresh mint, crushed garlic, and ground cumin. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix thoroughly using your hands until well combined. |

2. | Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, approximately 15cm in diameter and 1cm thick. |
3. | Heat olive oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat until hot. Cook the lamb patties for 5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until cooked through. Alternatively, grill the patties on a barbecue. |
4. | Meanwhile, preheat the grill on high. Place the Turkish bread portions, cut-side up, on an oven tray and toast under the preheated grill for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Spread a thin layer of hummus on the bottom halves of the bread portions. |
5. | Top with baby spinach, thickly sliced roasted red capsicums, cooked lamb patties, thinly sliced red onion, additional hummus, red onion rings, and a drizzle of chili sauce. Season with freshly ground black pepper. |
6. | Cover with the top halves of the bread portions and serve immediately. |
