These spiced molasses cookies are a delightful treat with a perfect blend of spices. Store them for a couple of days to enhance the flavors and enjoy them at their best.

Ingredients

cup softened butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup molasses
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup milk
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup raisins

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease cookie sheets.
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth. Stir in the molasses. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger; stir into the molasses mixture alternately with the milk. Finally, mix in the semisweet chocolate chips and raisins. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
