Traditional Baked Kibbee

A classic Middle Eastern dish featuring a flavorful blend of ground beef or lamb, bulgur wheat, and aromatic spices, baked to perfection.

½ | small onion, finely chopped |
½ | pound cracked bulgur wheat |
½ | cup pinenuts |
1 | teaspoon each of allspice, cumin and salt and pepper to taste |
1 | teaspoon dried mint |

Instructions

- Begin by washing the bulgur wheat, draining it, and allowing it to stand for 30 minutes.
- Using a food processor, combine all the ingredients until well blended.
- Prepare a small rectangular baking pan by buttering it, then press the mixture into the pan. Cut into traditional diamond shapes resembling Baklava, and drizzle olive oil on top.
- Bake the kibbee at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes or until it achieves a beautiful golden brown color.
