For Baked Artichoke Gratin

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 lb frozen artichoke hearts, thawed
2 tablespoons fresh parsley leaves, chopped
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ cup chicken broth
¼ cup Marsala wine
2 tablespoons butter
cup plain breadcrumbs
cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • For Baking the Artichokes

    1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
    2. In a heavy-bottom skillet over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute. Add the artichoke hearts, parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until the artichoke hearts start to brown around the edges, approximately 3 minutes. Pour in the chicken broth and Marsala wine, simmer for an additional 3 minutes. Transfer the artichoke mixture to a 2-quart baking dish.
    3. In the same skillet used for the artichokes, melt the butter. Combine melted butter with breadcrumbs in a small bowl. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the Parmesan breadcrumbs mixture over the artichokes. Bake until the top is golden, around 10 minutes.
