Ingredients: 7

These classic buttermilk biscuits are big, flaky, and tender. They are a breeze to make with ingredients you most likely have at hand. Perfect for breakfast or any meal of the day.

Ingredients

2 flour, plus more for dusting
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon white sugar
cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
    2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Cut in the cold cubed butter. Add the buttermilk and gently stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
    3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a circle about 1-inch thick. Use a 3.5-inch biscuit cutter to cut out the biscuits. Arrange 6 biscuits in a circle on the prepared baking sheet, with 1 in the center and edges touching.
    4. Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven until the bottoms are browned and the tops are starting to brown, for about 11 to 14 minutes.
