pound asparagus, cooked and drained

Instructions

1. In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to create a paste. Gradually pour in the chicken broth and milk while stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture thickens. Add the shredded Cheddar cheese and 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until the cheese is fully melted.
2. Arrange the cooked asparagus in an oven-proof baking dish. Pour the creamy cheese sauce over the asparagus. Sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan on top. Place the dish under the broiler and broil until the surface is lightly browned.
