Decadent Chocolate Almond Bonbons

2 | tablespoons milk |
1⁄4 | cup sugar |
3⁄4 | cup margarine or butter, softened |
2 | teaspoons vanilla |
2 | cups all-purpose flour |
1⁄4 | teaspoon salt |
1 | package (3 ½ ounce) almond paste |
Instructions

- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the sweet baking chocolate in milk, stirring occasionally until smooth.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1/4 cup of sugar and softened margarine until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla.
- Add the all-purpose flour and salt, and mix until well combined.
- Using rounded teaspoonfuls of dough, shape into balls.
- Place the shaped dough balls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Create an indentation in the center of each cookie.
- Fill each indentation with a scant 1/4 teaspoon of almond paste, then press the dough around the filling to cover it.
- Bake at 350°F for 9 to 11 minutes or until set.
- Remove the cookies from the sheets and roll them in sugar.
- Allow the bonbons to cool completely before serving.
- Yield: 4 dozen delectable bonbons.
