Ingredients

1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons cornstarch
4 fresh fruit (such as blueberries, cherries, or peaches)
2 tablespoons orange juice or Grand Marnier
12 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 (6 ounce) can ready-to-bake refrigerated buttermilk flaky biscuits
4 tablespoons brown sugar
14 teaspoon cinnamon
12 teaspoon grated orange peel

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray an 8x8 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
    2. In a large saucepan, combine all fruit mixture ingredients (except pecans). Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce is thickened. Add pecans if desired. Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish.
    3. Separate the biscuit dough into 5 biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters and place them into a bowl. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and grated orange peel, then toss gently to coat.
    4. Arrange the biscuit pieces over the hot fruit mixture and bake for about 15 minutes or until the biscuits are deep golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
