Instructions
For the green beans | |

1. | Prepare the fresh green beans by trimming them and boiling for 4-5 minutes, until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside. |
2. | In a cast iron fry pan or saucepan, melt butter or olive oil. Add thinly sliced onion and chopped garlic, and cook over medium-low heat until the onion is just tender. |
3. | Stir occasionally until the onion is translucent. Add the prepared green beans, fresh thyme (or dried), salt, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Heat through. |
4. | Just before serving, sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts or your favorite nuts for an added crunch. |
