1 | tablespoon vegetable oil |
¾ | tablespoon vanilla extract |
1 ¾ | cups all-purpose flour |

½ | teaspoon baking soda |
½ | teaspoon salt |
⅓ | cup chopped walnuts |
Instructions
For preparing the batter | |
---|---|
1. | Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a full-size bread pan with non-stick cooking spray and lightly dust with flour. |
2. | In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, which should take about 5 minutes. |
3. | Add the mashed bananas, applesauce, milk, oil, and vanilla to the egg mixture, and beat until well combined. |
4. | In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. |
5. | Gently fold the flour mixture into the banana mixture, stirring just until everything is incorporated. |
6. | Carefully fold in the chopped walnuts. |
7. | Pour the batter into the prepared pan, ensuring it does not fill more than half full. If using smaller pans, be cautious not to overfill to prevent overflow during baking. |
8. | Bake in the preheated oven until the bread is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, which should take about 1 hour. |
9. | Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack. |
