1 1⁄2 | cups asparagus, 1 inch chopped tips and most tender parts |
3 | tablespoons butter (no substitutions) |

Instructions

- Heat a heavy frying pan, preferably cast iron, over medium-high to high heat. Sauté the thinly sliced onion with butter until the onion turns tender.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook until they caramelize and develop a rich brown color, stirring frequently.
- Introduce the chopped asparagus, season with salt and fresh ground pepper to enhance the flavors. Cook the vegetables until the asparagus is crisp-tender, ensuring it retains a vibrant green color. Serve the dish piping hot.
